Sightings of “UFOs” (unidentified flying objects) of varying sizes, shapes and other characteristics have been recorded around the world for hundreds of years. Since the middle of the 20th century this activity has increased, and thousands of people have reported seeing something in the sky that they cannot identify. Some of these are explainable by natural or manmade phenomena, but most of them are not. Is this proof that the Earth has been visited by aliens from other worlds? Most scientists and governments tell us that there is no clear evidence that Earth has been visited. Yet they cannot explain the numerous sightings of what appear to be ultra high-performance spacecraft in our skies. Many of these sightings have been made by highly skilled and experienced observers, so let’s have a look at the evidence. 

The first major wave of sightings of “flying saucers” began in 1947, with military pilots reporting that they had seen “fast silvery discs” darting through the skies. Since then there had been well over 100,000 reported sightings - many by airline pilots, military pilots, air traffic controllers, radar operators and other qualified witnesses. Among the authorities and professionals who have witnessed UFOs are NASA astronauts, including Buzz Aldrin, Gordon Cooper, Donald Slayton, Robert White, Joseph A. Walker, Eugene Cernan, Ed White, James McDivitt, James Lovell, Frank Borman, Neil Armstrong, Maurice Chatelain and Scott Carpenter. In 2005, in a startling speech at the University of Toronto, Paul Hellyer, Canada’s Defence Minister from 1963-67, publicly stated: “UFOs are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head.”

Some of the most famous UFO evidence has come from events that were witnessed by numerous people in the skies over their cities. In 1990 a large object with lights traversed the skies over Belgium for several hours. It was seen by hundreds of individuals including police, air force personnel and air traffic controllers. During an eclipse in Mexico City in 1991, a UFO was witnessed and filmed by hundreds of people as they gazed up at the sky. But the most massively witnessed UFO sighting of all time occurred in the skies over and around Phoenix, Arizona (US) during the evening of March 13, 1997. It is known as the “Phoenix Lights”, and it was viewed by thousands of people including military, police, air traffic control and the governor of the state. What they saw was a v-shaped formation of lights over two kilometres long, flying in the skies for the entire evening. Hundreds of photos and videos were made, and there is no doubt that something strange was seen that night. The question that remains is - what did they see? 

Over the past few decades several excellent researchers have produced insights into the potential reality behind UFO sightings. Despite being ignored by mainstream media, these credible experts have published their opinions that UFOs are real. In 2010 the respected scientist Dr Michio Kaku put his considerable reputation on the line by stating that some objects in the sky are clearly unidentified and they do not appear to be of this planet. Dr Kaku supports the evidence in a book entitled “UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record” saying, “We’re talking about generals, we’re talking about air force pilots, we’re talking about governors of states, that claim this is beyond our understanding of the laws of physics.”

Perhaps the best proof of UFOs comes from Dr Steven Greer who gave up his medical practice so that he could devote all of his time and energy to what he calls The Disclosure Project. He is dedicated to exposing what he sees as a massive government cover-up of the evidence of extraterrestrial contact here on Earth. The Disclosure Project is backed by numerous reliable observers, including retired military officers, who have come forth with personal evidence of ET contact. In 2001, Greer held a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington DC, and over twenty witnesses testified as to their personal knowledge of ETs and ET-related technologies. All of these witnesses were very believable as they had distinguished careers in either the military or civilian world, and some had top secret government clearances. Among them were a Brigadier General, an Admiral, several experienced air traffic controllers, and military officers who had been in charge of nuclear missiles. There have been two subsequent UFO press conferences featuring retired military personnel; one in 2005, and another in 2012. At each of these the officers brought forth testimony about their personal experiences with UFOs - both in the air and on the ground.  

As noted before, most scientists and governments tell us that, even though many UFO reports cannot be explained, there is no evidence that Earth has been visited by aliens. However, these same scientists believe that there must be numerous advanced civilizations in the universe. This is simple logic since there are trillions of planets circling billions of stars, so with that many possibilities the chances for endless variations of life forms are very great. So why do scientists say that we have not been visited? Their assumption is that even the most advanced civilization would not have the technology to travel the enormous distances separating the Earth from even the nearest stars. 

This seems a bit short-sighted as what seems impossible today can be very possible in the distant future. For example, if you told someone 400 years ago that someday everyone would be carrying around smartphones with their amazing apps they would have said you were raving mad. Yet in our infinite universe there may be civilizations that are literally millions of years older and more advanced than ours. The possibility that one (or more) of these civilizations has the technology for travelling to earth is very real... but there is another explanation that is even more far out. Perhaps these UFOs are not from a far away world in another galaxy. Perhaps they are visitors from a different dimension - a different vibrational frequency on the space-time continuum. This would explain why they wink in and out of existence in our form of reality… our dimension. No one can say that they have a definitive answer to the questions surrounding this phenomenon, but there is clearly an impressive body of evidence that compels us to keep investigating the origin of UFOs. •
